Individual Intervention

The team have significant experience providing a wide variety of individual intervention to both victims and offenders (including those with a disability). This encompasses (but is not limited to) treating the following issues: alcohol and other drugs, behavioural management, emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, personality disorders, communication skills, childhood trauma, relationship counselling, violent offending, Depression, Anxiety and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Group Intervention

Cathartic Consulting’s psychologists are extremely experienced in facilitating offence-specific and offence-related group intervention programs to offenders in custody and in the community. The team have facilitated numerous treatment programs including (but not limited to) Moderate Intensity Violence Intervention Program, Parenting Program, Changeabout – Family Violence Intervention Program, High Intensity Violence Intervention Program, Real Understanding of Self Help, Interpersonal Relationships, Substance Use and Violence, Alcohol Education, Drug Education, Relapse Prevention, Semi Intensive Alcohol and Other Drug Program, Managing Grief and Loss, Managing Sleep, and Making Choices.

 

A number of the team have provided treatment within inpatient and outpatient forensic and rehabilitation services/hospitals. Additionally, a number of the team have delivered treatment programs in clinical mental health settings including group based schema therapy for trauma survivors, mindfulness, sleep hygiene and a family violence support group.
